Volunteer Opportunities
SunWatch offers a wide variety of unique and rewarding volunteer opportunities for all ages. Volunteer activities at SunWatch include site interpreters, village reconstruction, prairie restoration and gardening, admission/reception, and building and grounds maintenance. Site Interpreters / Docents: Make an investment in our children's future by teaching them about the past. Students love our tours which provide them with information and hands-on activities that take them back in time. Experience the rewards of watching a child learn. Complete training is provided; a desire to teach is all that's required.

Village Reconstruction / Prairie Restoration
Do you want to take part in preserving the history of the Miami Valley?
Annual village reconstruction and prairie restoration and harvesting are necessary to maintain and (hopefully) expand the number of features available throughout the village for the public to view and experience. To accomplish this we utilize seasonal personnel to help reconstruct the village to the condition that it was in when it was occupied almost 800 years ago. To do this we use only the materials and techniques that were available to the Fort Ancient villagers in AD 1200.

SunWatch Associates Board
Are you interested in helping preserve the past for the future? Do you like to work with others of similar interests? If so you will enjoy serving on the SunWatch Associates Board. This board organizes events and raises money to help support SunWatch. The SunWatch Associates Board has directed several successful fund raising events including the Celebration of Solstice Dinners and the Irma Bailey Reservation Indian Arts and Crafts Sales.
